vetiver-been so long

this song has been playing in my head for days. i remember going to hear them play in a record store in bloomington, sitting on the floor. the next day, our friend matthew, whom we all called “deuce” (a nicer iteration on his original nickname “two-face”), emailed it to me so that i could listen to it on repeat. this just made me think of all these stories i want to write down. it’s making me nostalgic.

a boy who makes me laugh and makes me dinner when i get home from an 11 hour day, coworkers who make that 11 hour day not so long, and the 1.5 diet cokes (shh, don’t tell) that played a role in keeping my eyes open.

and one whole year of president obama. for that i am very thankful.

this really made me laugh.

my dark-rinse earnest sewn jeans (the world’s most comfortable pants, other than my true love—pj’s), a day full of meetings that have all been enlightening, getting to tweet for work (which is surprisingly fun), the willpower to avoid the siren song of diet coke. i drink too much diet soda.

i haven’t shown you my costume yet. i made it myself, and i was inordinately proud of it. stephen was somewhat skeptical at first, but even he liked it in the end.

i was a skeleton, just in case you cannot tell (it’s not anatomically correct.)

the back was better.

i accidentally gave myself too much pelvis. oops.
