safety deposit box

a restorative weekend.

after three—truly great—weekends of go-go-go (connecticut with my book club lovelies, sitting hampton the wonder dog, and decompressing in d.c.), it was almost novel to spend the weekend borough-bound in brooklyn.

since i think my crazy schedule (work and play) led my body to mutiny, i developed a cold on friday morning that kept us in friday night. saturday em&j and our favorite pup trekked out to explore the neighborhood (and eat cheese and dine at lunetta and watch viral videos and laugh a lot and goodness me, do i love having them as friends). today i walked over to brunch at no. 7 in some truly summery weather and caught up with one of my college sisters over food and shoe shopping. spent the afternoon getting my toes done, running errands and fixing dinner and here we are, 10pm and steeling myself for breaking bad’s season finale (“i reserve the right to not have to comfort you” my darling husband said. i know this show stresses me out, but geez, man.)

i needed this weekend. thanks for being good.
